What can I ask 1345, the helpline for foreigners?

1345 is the Immigration Contact Center (외국인종합안내센터). Dial 1345 from anywhere in Korea with no area code. It works from landlines and mobile phones. The call is not free.

You can ask about these things.

  • Immigration and stay procedures
  • Life in Korea
  • Locations and hours of immigration offices
  • Village lawyers for foreigners (마을변호사)

It also provides three-way interpreting for foreigner-related services at public and nonprofit organizations.

Counseling is offered in 20 languages, including Vietnamese, Chinese, English, Mongolian, Russian, Thai, and Japanese.

Hours are weekdays 09:00~22:00. After 18:00, only Korean, English, and Chinese are available. Other languages are available 09:00~18:00.

Here is how to call. Dial 1345, follow the prompts, and press the number for your language. Then press *. To reach a counselor right away, press 0.
